MUSCAT: The Ministry of Finance has directed all government agencies including civil, military and security to transfer their revenues to the state treasury account on a daily basis.

In a letter issued by Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, the Minister of Finance to all government agencies on August 27, stated that the decision comes based on the orders from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to centralise the public revenues.

The government agencies must also submit the monthly statement of the collected revenues and matching receipt vouchers after being approved by the treasury department.

“The Ministry of Finance directs the attention of all government ministries and civil, military and security government units of full and complete commitment to transfer the amounts of revenues to the public treasury in the account of the Ministry of Finance at the Central Bank of Oman daily and within a maximum of five working days,” the letter said.

The government agencies should also provide the finance ministry with the receipt vouchers for the money collected and the supporting documents within two business days from the date of the payment of dues.
