MUSCAT : Knowledge Oman, the largest award-winning knowledge sharing platform in the Sultanate, announced the appointment of Balqees Sulieman Al Hassani as President of the platform effective from today. Balqees heads the Well-Being and Student Support Services of Al Sahwa School, one of the leading international private schools in Sultanate.
“Bridging the gap between the academia and the industry is one of important areas of Knowledge Oman where our focus is to bring valuable knowledge from the industry closer to the students and the society as a whole. Balqees appointment is a strategic fit and her rich experience, passion for education, and leadership abilities will no doubt strengthen Knowledge Oman’s participation in developing a knowledge-based society”, said Tariq Al Barwani, Knowledge Oman Founder.
A graduate of science from the Sultan Qaboos University, Balqees has over 15 years of experience in education serving as a laboratory technician, teaching general sciences students, moving up the ladder to becoming the Pastoral coordinator for the upper secondary school, to being promoted as the Assistant Principal of Al Sahwa Schools. Balqees was the member of the senior leadership team of Al Sahwa Schools. She currently serves as Al Sahwa School’s Head of Well-Being and Student Support Services.
Balqees was among the highest achievers in the public secondary school scoring a distinction mark of 95% positioned among the top students of Dohat Al Adab School.

Knowledge Oman has attracted more than 700 volunteers that initiated 74 projects that received more than 80,000 registrations and has partnered with 35 local and international organizations that impacted over 130,000 people. Knowledge Oman has received multiple regional, and international awards for the projects contributed to society since 2008. The appointment follows Knowledge Oman’s practice and commitment of empowering members with equal opportunities continuously to lead and support the community development.
