MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued 28 Royal Decrees.
Following are the details of the Royal Decrees:
- Royal Decree No. 87 / 2020 to establish the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, define its terms of reference and approve its organizational structure
- Royal Decree No. 88/2020 merging the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Legal Affairs into one ministry called the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, defining its functions and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 89/2020, establishment of the Ministry of Labour which will be comprised of the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Civil Service, the Civil Service Council, the National Fund for Training, and the National Centre of Employment. These ministries and government bodies will no longer be standalone entities and will fall under the umbrella of the new Ministry of Labour.
- Royal Decree No. 90/2020 establishing the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure
- Royal Decree No. 91/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 92/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, defining its terms of reference and adopting its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 93/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Housing to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 94/2020 establishing the Ministry of Economy, defining its functions, and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 95/2020 defining the functions of the Ministry of Information and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 96/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Oil and Gas to the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 97/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Trade and Industry to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Investment Promotion, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure
- Royal Decree No. 98/2020 amending the name of the Ministry of Higher Education to the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, defining its terms of reference and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 99/2020 amending some ministerial names.
- Royal Decree No. 100/2020 to establish a unit to follow up the implementation of Oman 2040 Vision, define its terms of reference and approve its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 101/2020 issuing the Provincial and Municipal Affairs System.
- Royal Decree No. 102/2020 defining the functions of the Ministry of Interior and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 103/2020 amending some provisions of the two Royal Decrees establishing the Tax Authority, issuing its system, and approving its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 104/2020 amending some provisions of the two Royal Decrees establishing the National Center for Statistics and Information and issuing its system.
- Royal Decree No. 105/2020 establishing the General Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones and defining its functions.
- Royal Decree No. 106/2020 to establish the Environment Authority, define its terms of reference and approve its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 107/2020 to establish the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, define its terms of reference and approve its organizational structure.
- Royal Decree No. 108/2020 abolishing some specialized councils.
- Royal Decree No. 109/2020 abolishing the Public Authority for Craft Industries.
- Royal Decree No. 110/2020 canceling the Public Authority for Privatization and Partnership.
- Royal Decree No. 111/2020 forming the Council of Ministers.
