MUSCAT: Dhofar Club has been declared Oman’s most popular football club by Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
A five-day online polling was held recently by AFC to judge the most popular football clubs in the Sultanate. “More than 125,000 page views were received in five days and Dhofar Club received 45% of the votes from the participants,” said the club in a statement on Saturday.
Dhofar Club popularly known as Al Zaeem (The Leader) is one among the country’s oldest football clubs. The club has won 11 Oman League titles, 8 His Majesty’s Cup and also won the Oman Professional League titles twice.
