MUSCAT: South Indian superstar Nivin Pauly has won the Best Actor award at the prestigious New York Indian Film Festival (NYIF) for his stellar performance in Moothon.
The movie directed by actor-turned director Geetu Mohandas has also won the best film award, while Sanjana Dipu’s outstanding performance in the film won her the best child artist award.

Moothon talks about a precocious young boy, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he decides to undertake a journey to find his long-lost elder brother.

The film has been scripted by Geetu and Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The legendary Rajeev Ravi has done the cinematography for the film. The movie also has Sobhita Dhulipala, Roshan Mathew Shashank Arora, Melissa Raju Thomas, and Omkaar in supporting roles. Moothon was earlier showcases at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival.
