MUSCAT: The Supreme Committee members will address the media to discuss the latest update on the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Excerpts from the interview:

Minister of Health: A significant number of injuries and deaths due to the pandemic have been recorded during the past six weeks due to the lack of compliance.
Minister of Health: 27,000 cases were reported within a month with 43 death cases and 114 in the ICU. The number of hospitalized cases is currently 420. More than 9000 cases were reported last week.
Minister of Health: We have witnessed an increase in the spread of infection between Omanis in the last few weeks
Minister of Health: The number of injuries exceeded 42 thousand, and those who recovered more than 25 thousand as of yesterday
Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Al Hinai: The interest-free loan program will include full-time job owners with taxis, babysitters, beauty salons and entrepreneurs. The loan will be extended over four years, with a six-month grace period.
Minister of Transport: The penalty for not wearing a mask is currently 20 riyals, and we are considering increasing the fine. We are also under discussion on the intensification of inspection and monitoring teams.
Minister of Transport: The operating cost of the aviation sector has been reviewed and reduced, in line with the current conditions. A number of employees have been demobilized, including pilots.
Minister of Health: Resuming some areas is possible in the event of non-compliance with the procedures, and when a community outbreak of the epidemic is observed.
Dr. Saif Al Abri: Coexistence document, has been classified into three levels that include several sectors such as education, tourism, transportation and specialised teams that set gradual return controls for these activities.
Minister of Health: Field hospitals will be open for critical cases.
Minister of Health: Penalty and punishment are not enough without social responsibility, and we call upon everyone to report the violators to protect the society and to maintain social distancing.
Minister of Transport: No sporting activities to resume soon, and reopening gyms are still under discussion.
Minister of Transport: The citizens will not be allowed to leave the country during the pandemic and the borders will continue to be closed and whoever enters will have to be in quarantine.
Minister of Health: If a vaccine has been developed, it will not be available before the end of the year.
Minister of Transport: Newspaper printing will be presented in the next meeting for further approval.
Minister of Health: If an employee comes to the workplace without precautionary measures, it has to be reported.
CEO of Oman Development Bank: More than 25,000 people to benefit from interest-free emergency loans.
Dr. Ali bin Abdullah AlMaqbali : The increasing number of cases in the North Al Batinah, especially Sohar, is due to several reasons, including some people who did not inform those around them. A person transmitted the infection to 35 people from his friends and family. They visit their family members or go to health institutions without notifying the medical staff that he or she has been infected. This leads to transmission of infection to medical teams, in addition, gatherings at family events and gathering on the beaches.
Minister of Health: 24,000 people are currently subjected to quarantine. Tarassud Plus App has helped us greatly to track their cases continuously and relieve the pressure on medical staff, the application works in five languages.
Minister of Health: There are 200 types of vaccines in the testing phase, 15 of which have reached advanced experimental stages.
