MUSCAT : The Supreme Committee is currently holding a press conference to discuss about the latest developments regarding the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Minister of Health: We have decided to close Duqm from Saturday till July 3 to contain the spread of the virus.
Minister of Health: 147 beds in the intensive care unit for those infected with the virus, and the number can be increased.
Minister of Health: 100 people have so far donated plasmas.
Minister of Health: 232 healthcare workers infected with the coronavirus.
Minister of Health: All requirements and protocols for the operation of aviation and airports have been completed.
Minister of Health: Most of Wilayat Muttrah will be opened in two days.
Minister of Tourism: Tourist visas issued from March 1, 2020 until 31 of August 2020 will be extended to March 2021.
Minister of Health: The spread of infection in Mutrah has decreased from 60 percent to 35 percent.
Minister of Health: Quarantine period is considered as sick leave.
Minister of Health: To this day, there is no medication specifically used to treat the Coronavirus.
Minister of Health: Strict measures will be taken while closing Dhofar. No one will be allowed to enter the governorate.
Minister of Health: The whole world is heading towards coexistence.
Minister of Transport: Coordination is going on to determine when we can open the borders with UAE. We are working on a comprehensive plan.
Dr. Saif Al Abri: Coronavirus cases increased due to lack of commitment and adherence to safety measures.
Minister of Health: Unfortunately, some people did not adhere to the instructions, which resulted in an increase of coronavirus cases.
Head of Dhofar Municipality: The decision to close Dhofar will continue until the pandemic reduces because precautionary measures cannot be applied in tourist sites due to the large number of tourists.
Minister of Health: We are dealing with a new virus, and there is no evidence that an asymptomatic patient doesn’t transmit the disease to others.
Minister of Health: We still have confidence in our society, and we still count on community awareness.
Minister of Health: The second and the third set of commercial activities will be reopened in wilayat of Muttrah from next Sunday 14th of June from 7 am till 6 pm per day except Hamriyah, Wadi Kabeer industrial area and Muttrah Souq.
Minister of Health: Commercial shops in Ruwi souq will be closed during weekends.
