SALALAH: Two people died when they were swept away by flood waters in Ain Arzat region in Dhofar Governorate, authorities said on Saturday.
Among the seven people who were stranded in wadi on Friday, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) could rescue five. The body of the first person was found on Friday evening, while the second body was found on Saturday morning.

Heavy rain has been lashing Salalah and adjoining areas due to a deep tropical depression since Thursday evening.

According to the latest weather report, Dhofar Governorate will receive heavy rainfall (100-200 mm) during the next 24 hours associated with strong winds with flooding over the low and coastal areas following the tropical depression that made the landfall on Friday night.
