MUSCAT: During the epidemiological investigation for coronavirus, some of the infected cases “deliberately concealed” details related to their jobs and workplaces, which has led to the spread of the Covid-19 cases in the country, a top Ministry of Health (MOH) official said on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saif bin Salem Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at MOH said some people deliberately withheld revealing details. “During the investigation, some of the infected cases deliberately concealed information related to their jobs and workplaces. We later found out that some of their colleagues caught the infection from them,” he said.

“There are cases of infection that have exceeded 30-50 in one family and from different Wilayats. This means that there is continuous communication between family individuals and a lack of commitment to physical distance,” he added.
