MUSCAT: Oman’s Royal Hospital issued a clarification about the shortages of some medicines due to coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
In a statement issued online, Royal Hospital on Tuesday said it purchases more than 1,600 medicines from various countries but due to the pandemic crisis, there is a shortage of 16 medicines that are imported from outside. “We have taken a number of steps to obtain these 16 medicines,” the statement said.
Royal Hospital also clarified about the shortage of mitotane drug that is used for the treatment of adrenal cancer. “Mitotane is imported from UK in specific quantities because the number of patients are very limited for this case and we purchase it based on the requirements.
