MUSCAT: The Kerala government has set elaborative plans to accommodate those non-resident Indians returning from coronavirus (Covid-19) affected foreign countries including GCC, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday.
The Chief Minister said the state has already set up over two lakh quarantine spaces that can accommodate the NRIs when they return from the GCC countries once the restrictions of lockdown are lifted. “We request our citizens to stay where you are currently residing until the outbreak is contained. We are doing all arrangements to get those stranded outside the country,” he said.
Explaining details during the media briefing, Chief Minister said the State has made arrangements to bring elderly citizens from the airport to the quarantine centre and “will also take them to their homes once they complete the quarantine period,” he said.

Meanwhile, he has appealed all NRI social centres including NORKA to ensure the citizens are safeguarded and protected from the virus.
