MUSCAT: Netflix users are on the rise in Oman in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, a report by Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA) said on Wednesday.
With most of the people confined to staying at home to avoid the spread of Covid-19, there has been a significant jump in the users of various streaming and social media apps in the country.
According to TRA, in the online streaming services, Netflix topped with 140 per cent, followed by Playstation with 93 per cent.

Social messaging app WhatsApp usage has increased 36 per cent while Facebook consumption has i increased by 20 per cent, Instagram, Youtube and SnapChat increased by 16 per cent.
Meanwhile the the use of voice services increased by 60 per cent in March followed by fixed and mobile data by 37 per cent and home internet data usage by 39 per cent. Interestingly, mobile phone data increased by 23 percent .
