MUSCAT: Oman’s budget airline SalamAir has plans to operate daily flights to its newly announced destination Phuket, its CEO told The Arabian Stories.
SalamAir will start its operations to Phuket in Thailand on Tuesday, December 24 with three-weekly flights from Muscat airport.
Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories ahead of the inaugural flight to Phuket, Captain Mohamed Ahmed said the airline is planning to increase its weekly flights to daily. “Phuket is an exciting destination for travellers from Oman. As you know, SalamAir is the first flight to have direct operations to Phuket. Earlier, passengers from Oman had to spend close to 14 hours via various transit stations to reach Phuket and now they can fly directly at a competitive There is a huge demand to Phuket and we will be increasing the frequency to daily operations,” Captain Mohamed said.

SalamAir will operate three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Muscat at 4:00 local time and arriving in Phuket at 13:00 local time. The flight will depart Phuket at 13:45 local time arriving in Muscat at 17:15 local time.
According to Captain Mohamed, SalamAir will add more fleets to its services next year. SalamAir currently operates three Airbus A320 aircraft and four Airbus A320Neo. “From seven we will be increasing more fleets next year with plans to have more destinations in the coming months,” he added.
