Muscat: Students of Indian School Al Ghubra enthusiastically participated in the Pookkalam / Rangoli Competition that was conducted on Sunday, the 13th of October in the school premises.
The event conducted under three categories i.e. Sub –Junior, Junior and Senior, saw a large-scale participation by 623 students grouped into 170 teams. The participants displayed their skill in making attractive designs which also depicted socially relevant themes. The different hues of the fresh flowers used enhanced the riot of colours on display.
The judges, Mr. Vinod Mancheri, Mr. FazalKathiroor and Mrs. AbhaShaji , eminent artists, were highly impressed by the variety and perfection in the displays.

In the Sub-Junior Category, the team led by Niveditha Manoj bagged the First Position; the Second Position was shared by teams led by ReethaMartin andHrithin Joseph Vinod ; in the Third Position were teams led by AainaSubhash and Jerom George Thomas.
In the Junior Category, the First Position was bagged by the team led by JahnaviVinod ; the Second Position went toArshZahidShaik and Team and the Third Position tothe teams led by Elsa Albert and Alma TezRinoy.
In the Senior Category, the First Position was shared by teams led by Nikitha Thomas and FaizaReza ;the Second Position was bagged by Nikhita A. Nair and her team and the Third Position went to AshrithaVuppula and her team.
Five Consolation Prizes were given under each category as well. Besides serving as a platform to display their artistic skills, the event saw students working together in groups with great camaraderie.
