MUSCAT: Cyclone Hikaa lashed central Oman with high winds and rain on Tuesday evening, according to Oman’s weather monitoring authority.
However, Cyclone Hikaa has now been downgraded to tropical storm with surface wind speed around the center ranges between 45 to 55 kt.

Hikaa had initially begun as a tropical depression over the Arabian Sea, characterised by heavy winds and rough seas, before accelerating into a tropical storm, and then becoming a cyclone on Tuesday morning.
