Muscat: British telecommunications giant Vodafone has become the third telecom operator after it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday.

According to Ministry of Transport and Communications, a 15-year strategic partnership agreement was signed between Oman Future Telecommunications (OFT) and Vodafone on Thursday.

Earlier in May, Oman’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA) said that such agreements will enhance the chances of competition in the market.

Currently Omantel and Ooredoo are the two telecom players operating in the country.
