Muscat: Giti Tire’s third appearance at the 24 Hours Nürburgring circuit in Germany turned out to be a huge success, winning the top two places in the group, recently.
Giti featured two Audi R8 vehicles in the race, both performing impressively in their SP8 class throughout 24 hours of intense conditions and competition. In the end, Giti’s Audi R8 LMS Ultra delivered the top finish in the group, including a highly impressive 20th place finish of the overall Nurburgring field that included 160 entrants. Coming in second was Giti’s Audi R8 GT4, which packs 495HP into its V10 5.2L DOHC engine.
For this year’s contest, Giti Tire sponsored the vehicles of four teams, all fitted with GitiCompete GTR1 tires and covered with full Giti branding. Taking place at the Nürburgring Nordschleife Racetrack – the longest track in the world – the 24 Hours Race is among the toughest and most famous endurance races globally.
Meanwhile, Giti’s groundbreaking all-female Volkswagen Golf team, whose drivers, technical support, and track crew are all women, overcame a severely damaged engine, working for 13 hours to overhaul the machine and finish the race with great determination.

In addition to the All-Female team’s performance, Giti’s other Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle finished the entire gruelling 24 hour endeavour with success, placing 5th in the SP3 class.
The 24-Hour Race demonstrates that Nürburgring is among the best tire testing grounds in the world. With a mix of extreme and constantly changing sun, rain, heat, and cold, the GitiCompete GTR1 tires are put to intensive tests during each lap.
