MUSCAT – The Authority explained that the situation is being closely monitored by specialists from the Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate, in coordination with the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport and the company overseeing the Al Mughsail Bridge project.
The current decrease in the reserve’s lake water level is attributed to ongoing construction work, and the Authority stressed that this is a temporary, phased situation. Water levels are expected to gradually return to normal as the bridge’s concrete pillars are completed and the khor is reopened to the sea.
The Environment Authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting natural ecosystems, closely monitoring environmental changes, and ensuring the sustainability of natural resources and biodiversity. The public can seek further information via the Authority’s website (www.ea.gov.om), hotline 1991, or the Tajawab platform (https://tajawab.am).
