MUSCAT — The RAHRC Bridge Section was abuzz with excitement this week as 16 bridge enthusiasts gathered for the club’s annual tournament, a highlight on the community’s gaming calendar. With eight pairs competing across 14 boards in seven highly competitive rounds, the event offered a day of intense strategy and spirited play, giving each team the chance to face every other pair.
After an engaging series of matches, Anita Khimji and Suhail Khan emerged as the tournament champions, securing the top spot with an impressive 50 points. The battle for second place was a nail-biter, with the pairs of Hina Dharamsey & Samir Ketkar and R. Murali & Vivian both finishing just one point behind at 49. Sarika Breeze and Indu Nath followed closely, rounding off a competitive leaderboard that reflected the high calibre of participants.
The tournament was smoothly organised by the RAHRC Bridge Section, whose meticulous planning ensured seamless gameplay throughout the event. The day concluded with a warm and enjoyable dinner, celebrating not just the winners but the fellowship and shared passion for bridge that brought players together.
