MUSCAT : Public revenues fell to RO 3.744 billion by the end of April 2024, a stark 15% reduction from the same timeframe in 2023.
Parallel to the revenue drop, public spending also decreased, albeit at a slower pace. The expenditure stood at RO 3.597 billion, marking a 7% reduction from the previous year’s spending during the same period. This contraction equates to a decrease of RO 275 million.
Moreover, the total support allocated to the social protection system, petroleum products, and the electricity sector amounted to approximately RO 365 million by the end of April 2024. Additionally, the allocation for debt repayment stood at RO 133 million.
