Muscat – The Sultanate of Oman, in collaboration with the Royal Court Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, successfully secured the listing of the Royal Camel Corps on ISESCO’s heritage list. This historic recognition was attained during the 11th meeting of the Islamic World Heritage Committee hosted at the premises of ISESCO in Rabat, Morocco, spanning a two-day conference.

Established under the auspices of the Royal Court Affairs, the Royal Camel Corps stands as Oman’s foremost institution dedicated to preserving the intangible cultural legacy associated with camels and the profound social traditions linked to them. The inscription of the Royal Camel Corps marks a momentous milestone, signifying global acknowledgement of its tireless efforts in conserving the rich heritage encapsulated in the Omani camel breeds.
