MUSCAT: Concerns regarding the disruption of water services in the Wilayat of Al Amerat are on the rise after the state was affected by a mountain collapse. Amidst citizens and residents taking to social media to voice their concerns, the Oman Water and Wastewater services Company (OWWSC) has issued a clarification regarding the impact of the mountain collapse on the water distribution network in the state.
The OWWSC said in a statement, “Referring to what was circulated on social media about the mountain collapse in the Wilayat of Al Amerat and the impact of the water distribution network in the state as a result of this collapse, the Omani Company for Water and Wastewater Services explains that it has taken all measures to ensure that subscribers in the state are not affected. An alternative line has been activated from the state of Baushar to supply the affected areas with water… In addition, the company is working to address the damages in the network and ensure the continuity of water supply to subscribers.”
