MUSCAT : As per a new report by the American Energy Network, Oman is doing really well in terms of LNG production and exports as it tries to renegotiate existing long-term LNG supply contracts, which are set to end between 2024 and 2026. The report further points out that ten years ago, the future of LNG in the Sultanate of Oman was fraught with uncertainty, amid the decline in domestic natural gas production and the rapid rise in demand, but today the prospects for LNG in the Sultanate of Oman seem bright as ever.

The American Energy Network report further notes that the high levels of gas production and export of LNG last year were met with an expected rise in the prices of LNG and strong demand, which was largely the result of Russia’s war in Ukraine and the expected recovery in the Chinese economy.
