MUSCAT : Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. This quote aptly describes the opportunities given to the students at ISWK to  hone their leadership skills while at school. 

The office bearers of the new student council of the Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir Primary Section for the academic year 2022-2023, were sworn in to the  various leadership posts at an Investiture Ceremony held on 5th June 2022. 

The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest, Captain Nilesh Lekchand  Khokle, Defense Advisor, Indian Embassy, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and  the Guest of Honour, Mr. Vishal Goenka, member of the School Managing  Committee, ISWK. They were treated to an enthralling musical fanfare and  then escorted into the hall by the Primary School Band that played with great  rhythm and coordination. Sheikh Anil Khimji, chief patron of the school, Mr.  Alkesh Joshi, President – SMC, ISWK, Mrs Gargi Chugh, President – SMC,  ISWK(i) and other esteemed members of the SMC graced the occasion with  their gracious presence. 

The ceremony commenced with the presentation of a potted plant to the Chief  Guest, Captain Nilesh Khokle and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Vishal Goenka  which was followed by the lighting of the auspicious lamp and a scintillating  prayer song performed by the Primary Choir. The welcome address by the  newly appointed Head boy Master Abdul Qadir Saifee and the Head Girl Miss  Karen Sibi was well appreciated by the august gathering. 

After the welcome address, the Chief Guest Captain Nilesh Khokle, the Guest  of Honour Mr. Vishal Goenka, the Sports Sub-Committee Chairperson Mr.  Manoj Ranade and President of SMC, ISWK Mr. Alkesh Joshi invested the  office bearers in a ceremonial manner. The school flag was handed to the  newly appointed Head boy and Head Girl, as a mark of giving them the  responsibility over the new Prefectural Body.

Capt. Nilesh Khokle and Guest of Honour Mr. Vishal Goenka addressed the  new council members and advised them on the responsibilities of student  leaders. The students promised to follow their advice and were ready to take  on the new roles with enthusiasm. 

The oath was administered by the Chief Guest, wherein the Council vowed to  abide by the creed of their Alma Mater and accomplish their duties according  to their portfolio to the best of their abilities. The melodious rendition of the  song “Badal pe paon hain” by the Primary Choir and the fabulous and  colourful dance performance by the students of the Primary Section was  inspiring and filled the air with the echoes of inspiration and vigour. 

The vote of thanks was delivered by the Deputy Head Boy, Amogh Shimpi and the Deputy Head Girl, Aakaanksha Harave followed by the National  Anthem of Oman and India. 

It truly was a day to remember for all, especially the newly invested Student  Council and for their parents. We wish them the best of luck!
