MUSCAT : In an announcement issued online, the TRA stated that it intends to carry out a limited trial of third generation services shutdown, according to plans prepared in coordination with mobile network operators.
The trial aims to identify potential challenges in preparation for the gradual shutdown planned from the third quarter 2024.
The shutdown of 3G services is expected to improve the quality of telecommunications services, and to streamline resources and investments in emerging and next-generation technologies.
