Muscat: Expressing deep concerns over the situation, Tedros highlighted the massive displacement of families across southern Gaza, with some forced to flee repeatedly. The overcrowding in health facilities further compounds the risks, increasing the vulnerability to infectious diseases, according to Tedros’s statement on X.
Simultaneously, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel’s actions, accusing it of perpetuating illegal measures and conducting what it termed as “genocide” against Gazans. The ministry called for resolute international action, urging a swift U.N. resolution for an immediate ceasefire to address the escalating crisis.
Updating on the tragic toll of the conflict, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported an alarming count of 21,507 fatalities and 55,915 injuries resulting from the Israeli aggression since October 7. Additionally, reports from Gaza authorities and the United Nations underscored the intensified Israeli assaults on hospitals and healthcare workers, exacerbating the already dire situation and causing unprecedented human and infrastructural losses.
