MUSCAT: The Chedi Muscat, a top hotel in the city has issued a statement after authorities temporarily closed the property for violating the COVID-19 preventive measures.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said it closed the hotel after multiple cases of coronavirus infections were reported at the property.
In a statement issued by Thomas Guss, General Manager of Chedi Muscat said the hotel will remain closed to guests until 15th June 2021, as directed by the ministry. “The safety, health of our guests and employees is our priority, and The Chedi Muscat will spare no expense and effort to ensure that they are well looked after and cared for during this challenging period,” Guss said in the statement.
“The hotels’ management is working closely with all respective authorities, including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Heritage & Tourism, to ensure that all protocols are implemented. As such, the hotel will remain closed to guests until 15th June 2021, as directed by the ministry,” he said:
“We want to thank the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for their continuous support and guidance,” he added.
